This is a magnolia tree seed pod. Normally, I don’t get to see them up close because the trees are 20-30 feet high, placing the pods out of camera range. However, today was different. I occasionally spot these pods around this time of year, but being so close to one today, I had to stop and admire it. Interestingly, I don’t recall them having such a reddish hue before. I’m thrilled I was able to capture this one.  Enjoy!
