This plant is Celosia cristata, more commonly known as Crested Cockscomb. I do not often come across these on my walks through the neighborhood, which makes finding one feel special. The flower stands out for its unusual shape and dense, velvety texture that almost looks sculpted by hand. Its vivid color adds even more character, making it one of the most distinctive plants I have ever stopped to photograph. Enjoy!
