St. John’s Wort is a familiar sight around the neighborhood, often carpeting rockeries with its lush greenery and large golden blooms. The type I usually come across is Hypericum calycinum, commonly known as Creeping St. John’s Wort. But this variety here is a rarer find. Its blossoms are much smaller and delicately framed by vivid red berries, adding a splash of contrast that really catches the eye. This berry-bearing form is known as Tutsan, or Hypericum androsaemum. Enjoy!
