I almost did not see this mushroom as I crossed the street on a recent walk through the neighborhood. I am usually on the lookout for mushrooms this time of year as they can make good subjects for photographs if I can capture them before they get trampled or the weather causes them to wither away. These two were on a parking strip right next to the curb so i could get up close to snap this shot. They are called Umbrella Mushroom and unless you are looking for them you will likely step on them because as you can see they are not even as tall as a blade of grass. Enjoy!
