During my stroll earlier this week, I encountered a plant called Jerusalem sage. To those unfamiliar, this plant typically blooms in late spring to early summer, so it was quite a surprise to see it in full bloom on a cool winter day. What made this sight even more intriguing was the fact that this large plant—spanning 4 to 6 feet across—was mostly dead and dried up, except for one vibrant flower stem that seemed to have just begun its blooming cycle. Enjoy!
