On my neighborhood walk today, I didn't spot many flowers, but I did see something spectacular. In all its splendor, Mt. Rainier was adorned with lenticular clouds. These clouds typically form on the downwind side of a mountain when stable, moist air flows over it, creating a series of oscillating waves. The result is an almost ominous appearance, as if the mountain's peak is being blown off by the wind. Enjoy!
