This time of year, it’s impossible to miss the magnolia trees in their full, breathtaking bloom. Many of these trees are tall, their purple and white flowers high above, out of reach for photographing. However, there’s a particular Star Magnolia I know of along one of my many routes through the neighborhood. The Star Magnolia holds a special place in my heart—it’s a bush rather than a tree, with blossoms growing close to the ground. Today, as I passed by, I couldn’t resist stopping to admire its beauty. Its flowers boast a richer, deeper hue compared to the tree blooms, and I much prefer the dramatic star-like shape to the tighter, more reserved blossoms of the trees. The Star Magnolia truly puts on a show! Enjoy!
