Flowers from the neighborhood
These are flowers from walkabouts in the hood.  Many flowering plants are drying up with the heat but by walking different routes I come across pockets where there are some unusual ones like the Artichoke.  The Artichoke plant was in a parking strip and had been blooming for some time as there were several plants and about a dozen blooms, some endured the heat pretty well, some did not.  The Queen of the Alps is one I had not seen before...kind of a cool looking flower with lots of little poky stems.  The others just looked nice because of their color.  I like to blend the backgrounds because often whatever was in the background just did not look good, was too busy or there was an unwanted object like a car, house or a fence...
