I've walked by this tree several times this season, but today, when I saw the yellow fruit, I stopped in my tracks, puzzled by what I was seeing. Initially, I thought it might be a tomato due to its shape, but the large leaves indicated otherwise. The shape, color, and big leaves were a total mystery until I used Google Lens to identify it as a persimmon. Honestly, I can't recall ever seeing a persimmon tree or its fruit before, and I don't think I've ever tasted one. Maybe someone here can share their thoughts on the taste and texture of persimmons?
